Where a residential lease is coming towards the end of its term then action needs to be taken to prevent it becoming valueless. A new lease can be negotiated with the freeholder or legal proceedings commenced to ensure that a new long lease is granted.
Enfranchisement can also be considered.
It is strongly advisable to start this procedure well before your remaining lease term reduces below 80 years.
